Last week I discovered my power supply was fried, so I ordered a new one. Of course it didn't fit so I had to buy an adapter to go from 24-pin to 20-pin. While I was shopping for that I stumbled onto an AGP graphics card for a mere $30. It's a Geforce 4 MX 4000 by aopen.

I was worried about whether it will work or not simply because I'm not very confident in my motherboard. Still, it was low risk. Today I hooked it up upon arrival and to my joy I found that it works just fine and is about 2.5x as fast as my previous card. I immediately loaded up Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War and discovered that I can now play it with the graphics on full.

Damn, is it beautiful. I'm quite pleased. Obviously, I have to recommend the new card and the site I purchased it from. It's an Aopen Aeolus Geforce4 MX 4000. It can be purchased here from Newegg.com. Now my friend is going to buy my old Geforce2 from me for the same price I paid for the new one (his mobo won't accept it). I'm going to shop for a new game soon to write a walkthrough for. Cheers!

I finally have enough bandwidth to host the Fallout 2 Wasteland Merc Mod. I doubt I can do WM3 at its release because its popularity would overrun my limit. Still, I feel comfortable finally offering this mod for download from this site. Note that if I see downloads are exceeding bandwidth limits I might remove it. Consider this a test. Eventually I'll offer more huge downloads like this (WM2 tops at 35mb) without worrying.

The first large patches are available now: Age of Empires 3 1.04, Heroes of Might and Magic 3 1.4 and Civilization 3 v1.29f. I hope to continue adding these. It was too annoying to upload such large patches before and I didn't have the bandwidth. This server can handle much more load than it's taking so I'm slowly going to add more patches to use up some resources.
