Runescape Weapon: Excalibur

This sword is the reward for the Merlin's Crystal quest (members only). Excalibur has the following stats:

Attack Bonuses
Stab: +20
Slash: +29
Crush: -2

Defense Bonuses
Slash: +3
Crush: +2
Magic: +1

Other Bonuses
Strength: +25

Attack Styles
Chop (Accurate, Slash)
Slash (Aggressive, Slash)
Lunge (Controlled, Stab)
Block (Defensive, Slash)

My Thoughts:
Excalibur is not the most amazing weapon, by far. Still, someone who completes the quest at a reasonable level could see some use out of the weapon as its attack and strength stats are not too bad.

Strongly in Excalibur's favor is its special attack. Using the attack drains the sword's special attack energy to 0 but increases your defense slightly more than a normal defense potion would. The affects of both a potion and the weapon's attack don't stack, so if you have easy access to super defense potions you probably won't be using this very often. On the other hand, using the attack is free and the recharge time on the special isn't too long. Considering that you can switch to excalibur and use its special, then switch to a better weapon it is feasible to use this even at high levels when you're not fighting something where a super defense would be needed.

It's important to note that Excalibur's weapon energy does recharge while you're not using the weapon. In fact, I found that it was recharged and ready for another use well before the affect of the defense increase had fully worn off.
