Black Knights' Fortress Walkthrough

What you need: An iron chainmail, a bronze medium helmet and a cabbage
The Quest Reward: 3 Quest Points and 2500 gold

You can start this quest by finding Sir Amik Varze on the third floor of the White Knigts'Castle in Falador. To get there you'll want to take the staircase on the western side of the building twice. When you speak to him, ask him about a quest. He'll tell you that the Black Knights are threatening to use a new secret weapon against Falador and you need to infiltrate their fortress to find out more. You can't just waltz in there and stop them though, you're going to require some sneaky tactics.

First you will want to collect an iron chainmail from the armory in Varrock. It's really cheap so it shouldn't be difficult to afford. Second, grab a bronze medium helmet from barbarian village. You could also smith the items, but that would take a little while and you can just as easily buy what you need. Wearing this outfit will make you look like one of the guards at the fortress. Now you need to get a cabbage. You can pick up the cabbage from the monastery on the way to the fortress. Look for the cabbage inside the monastery on the northern side. When you have all three items, you're ready to get on with the quest.

Head to the Black Knights' Fortress, west of Edgeville, on the northern side of the ice mountain. Be sure you're wearing the armor you bought earlier and head through the southern entrance (west side of the fortress). Once you're through, you'll be free to remove the armor and replace it with your better gear (hopefully) because the knights are aggressive and will attack you no matter what you're wearing. Once that's done, push the wall to the north then climb the ladder. You'll find one more ladder, which you should climb, then another one to the south of you, which you should go down.

You'll probably be attacked by a Black Knight when you enter this room. Ignore him and head east, through the two doors. Immediately go up the next ladder, then down the one to the right of that one. You'll be on the other side of the wall, at a chaos altar. You can pray here to recover your prayer points if you like, then head through the door in that room. Ignore another knight here and climb down the next ladder, yet again. When you're at the small passage, hover your mouse over the wall to find the spot where you can listen through the grill.

Your character will overhear the knights having a conversation about the secret weapon. It's taken the wizard five years to develop the potion, and he needs a specific cabbage to complete it. You have just the wrong kind he needs, however, and can now proceed to wrecking his potion.

Head back to the entrance of the fortress and try to go through the door into the room with the big table. A guard will warn you that the black knights are conducting a meeting and will kill anyone who enters. Tell him you're going in anyway, then ignore the knights when they attack. Head up the northern ladder and you'll be on the side of the fortress. Follow the path as it curves to the southeast and push the wall again. Now you'll come to a hole in the floor. Use your cabbage (Don't eat it!) by right clicking it and selecting 'use cabbage'. Select the hole in the floor as your target and you'll drop the cabbage in, destroying the potion.

Return to Sir Amik Varze in the White Knights' Castle for your reward.
