Starcraft 2 Zealot
Protoss Unit Strategy Guide
|Body Class||Light, Biological|
|Psi Blades||Damage: 8|
Zealots are the basic Protoss fighter. They are the most well-defended of the three starting units, and do respectable damage for a higher cost than the others. They possess no bonuses against any particular unit type but serve as excellent meat shields to help protect more valuable Protoss units.
Zealot Special Abilities and Upgrades
Zealots receive one upgrade in multiplayer. Coming in at 200 minerals/vespene, the Charge ability allows them to charge toward opponents and close the distance so they may use their Psi Blades in melee. This indirectly increases the damage output and defense of a Zealot. The more time they're in combat, the more damage they're doing. If they can close the gap between a ranged attacker like a Siege tank, they will suffer much less damage. The ability is auto-cast but can also be used manually. You may way to use it to send your Zealots toward a high-priority target, past other enemy attackers.
In addition to the special action, the Charge upgrade will passively boost a Zealot's move speed from 2.25 to 2.75
