Terran Medics are available only in the Wings of Liberty Campaign. The Medivac fills the role of Terran healer in Multiplayer. Medics will be very helpful to you in many missions for keeping your units alive to fight another day. This will save valuable resources that can then be spent on more firepower.
Medic Special Abilities and Upgrades
![]()
As Medics are only available in the Campaign, this section will be brief. Medics use their Heal ability to automatically heal nearby biological allies. This ability is invaluable in any case where you will be using infantry. It prevents your troops from gradually wearing down until a group is completely dead. Vehicles and Starships get repairs from SCVs and the Science Vessel, while Marines, Marauders and SCVs get heals. Bringing even a couple of them along can allow you to make heavier use of Stimpacks. Pop the packs, let the medics heal your troops a second or two, then proceed to slaughter your enemies.
Stabilizer Medpacks increase the healing rate by 33%, and heals consume 25% less energy. This is very helpful for obvious reasons. If a medic can out-heal an enemy unit dealing damage to one of your troops, that troops is not going to die. I've grown more fond of the Advanced Medic Facilities upgrade, which allows you to train Medics without a Tech Lab. This means two can be made at once with a reactor. You can make a self sufficient attack group of Marines and a few Medics at a rapid pace this way.
