Strategic Resources provide 1 Production. Horse, Iron, and Uranium provide double quantity.
Unique Unit: Cossack:
Requires Military Science Tech, Horses
Cossack replace the Cavalry. They're identical to them in every way, but deal +50% more against damaged units. They can easily pick off anything in their era. The 3 movement of cavalry is useful here. Target units so that you can take advantage of this ability.
Unique Building: Krepost:
Requires Bronze Working
Replaces the Barracks, but gives the same +15 xp bonus. Additionally, it cuts the culture cost of acquiring new tiles by 50%. Russia can take over massive amounts of land quickly with this and a couple cultural-focused cities.
Russia makes great use of strategic resources. They can support militaries with plenty of units made with iron and horse. Uranium comes along for massive amounts of nukes and death robots. All these things can of course be directed toward trade, but why do that? I suppose the hands off approach is to help a friendly neighbor to be armed to the teeth then sic them on whoever you desire. Use the Krepost to train said militaries for your own purposes and enjoy the benefits of taking over sprawling areas of land.
