Writing a Homeworld 2 walkthrough was no easy task. The game's dynamic difficulty makes it so that different players may face different enemy ships and numbers of ships through the course of the campaign. Because of this shifting difficulty, you may not encounter the same ease or hardships I did in some situations throughout the walkthrough. One of the best things you can do to maintain an effective fleet, as in any real-time strategy game, is maintain a balance between ship types. The enemy will be hard-pressed to find a weakness it can exploit if you cover all the bases.

The game's AI makes it so that your ships usually fire on an enemy that they are strong against, but it's still useful to know what types of ships are good against others. Learning the various types will help you avoid fumbling around and lead to quicker victories as you waste less resources.
