Mission 3 - Sarum

When you start, the shipyard Nabal will be under attack. You should send your interceptors to attack the enemy fighters. Use your bombers if there is a frigate present. You can now build mobile refineries which you should do soon, but not right away. Instead build a few more resource collectors and move your mothership closer to the nearby resources. When you have six resourcers you'll be going much faster. Then it's time to finally build that mobile refinery. During this build time your fighters and bombers should have saved the shipyard. You'll now have access to the resource collectors' repair ability.

Keep the resource collectors on the nearby resources until they run out then send four of them with a mobile refinery to the resource field on your sensor manager. The other two resource collectors can be used to repair the shipyard once you've researched the repair ability.

You should finally build that corvette facility while you reinforce your interceptors (shoot for at least six squadrons) then begin building gunships. Four should do. Saving money for bigger and better things is a good idea sometimes. When the Vagyr probes arrive use your interceptors to dispatch them quickly.

When a Vagyr carrier eventually attacks you should know what to do. Use bombers to attack the fighter facility so it can't produce any more ships then pound away at it. Use your interceptors to destroy its escorts. The shipyard should be repaired before too long. In the mean time you'll be offered the opportunity to build gun platforms. You'll need a platform control module on your mothership to build them but it's worth the investment (at least at the time) so you can use platforms to reinforce the forward resourcing area.

When the repairs of the shipyard are complete you'll be given control of a carrier. This is great because it doubles your production capacity. Send the resource collectors that were repairing the shipyard to duty in your forward resourcing operation. The carrier comes with a frigate facility but you can upgrade it to include a fighter and corvette facility.

The Vagyr will eventually attack the shipyard with a small fleet consisting of infiltrator frigates. Use your bombers to destroy them. If they capture it you can use marine frigates to capure it back but it shouldn't be a problem. The interceptors, bombers and gunships you have should have little trouble eliminating the Vagyr forces if you act quickly. During this time you would do well to build an advanced research module on your mothership as well as at least four flak frigates. Reinforce your interceptors and bombers to have a total of ten interceptors and six bombers.

After the initial wave, several Vagyr carriers will jump in. Use all you've got to keep them off the shipyard. Simply guard it while you wait for your flak frigates to arrive. The flak frigates will be a huge help guarding the shipyard against Vagyr fighters. Don't stand around and guard the shipyard forever. Start by attacking one of the carriers. Leave two bombers and flak frigates to guard the shipyard against further attack. Use everything else you have to take down a carrier. Before going for the kill, destroy the fighter or frigate facility it is equipped with so it will stop spitting out reinforcements. When the first one is down it gets much easier. You can repeat the procedure to eliminate the other two.
