The opening sequence to this mission is very cool. When it's over, you'll still be under attack though. Move your destroyers and other anti-frigate ships to take care of the nuisances. You'll want to keep at least six resource collectors repairing the dreadnought while the rest of your fleet guards it.
It will be revealed to you that the Vagyr are using hyperspace gates to bring reinforcements. Use a squadron of bombers and interceptors to attack two different gates at once. The faster you destroy the gates the better. You'll likely have to split your forces somewhat to take care of the enemies attacking the dreadnought. Judge what is attacking and use the appropriate types of ship to take care of them.
The shipyard Nebal will jump in before too much time passes and you'll be able to send the dreadnought there for further repairs. This will likely be one of the most chaotic battles you've ever fought. I did this almost entirely in the sensors manager because there are so many groups of ships attacking you. Use the appropriate ship types to eliminate the enemy, as usual. The shipyard comes with all the production modules you need so use it! Keep your forces strong. There's no excuse to lose this battle because of your ships dying off when you have a total of six production facilities and probably plenty of cash.
You should strive to gradually move your ships tighter so that you have a broad range of unit types around the mothership and shipyard. Moving the mothership and your carriers to the shipyard might be a good idea for that reason. When the dreadnought docks, a countdown of fifteen minutes begins. You'll have to hold off the Vagyr that long to wait out the repairs.
If your fleet looks strong and you have plenty of cash, push out a few turrets. They could be positioned to defend almost everything if you place them near the center of your fleet. Keep an eye on your resources. It's somewhat hard to keep the harvesters going but you should still try so you don't run out of cash.
Vagyr carriers will attack you in full force, leading to probably the bloodiest battle you've faced in this campaign. It will not be easy to manage such a large engagement effectively but do remember to keep your forces strong and protect your production ships. When you can take out even one carrier you're really helping your cause. Gradually you should be able to push the Vagyr back. Dock ships that get really damaged so they can be repaired free, rather than replacing them.
When the repairs on the dreadnought are complete you will be told to eliminate all the rest of the Vagyr forces. It will get easier and easier as you take out carriers so focus on them one at a time.
