Havana: The Great Bear Trap
The going is really slow at first. You need to hotkey all four units you start with, and move next to the mirage tank. Select only the spies when you see the first Soviet infantry and disguise them. Try to bribe multiple units at a time by sneaking one spy out while the rest of your forces move along. There are some engineers to grab, along with several tesla troopers that can be bribed at once. Continue following the tank, but be careful as although your units are invisible you need to move them to prevent them being squished by tanks. When you get to the north, you can improve your force by another six or more soviets by bribing the guards in the road. Move away from the apocalypse tanks when they come, staying behind the mirage tank. If you have enough forces, Giles may decide to destroy them.
Once you reach the soviet base, help Giles to destroy everything by focusing your troops' fire. If you have engineers you can capture then sell some buildings to boost your income. Once the base is down, Kirovs will start coming out of the sports stadiums. What follows is a very tough mission. You must stop the Kirovs from reaching the edge of the map. Your co-commander will do most of this work, while you try to eliminate threats on the ground.
When you take control of your new base, start with a seaport and multigunner turret. Place the turret to the north of your power plants. The seaport will go west of your ore mines. Research heightened clearance while you build a second multigunner turret. Place it up north with the other. Stagger them a bit so they have line of sight. Now build a third multigunner for the northern defensive front, a power plant and four assault destroyers. Build an airbase while your assault destroyers are coming out, then a barracks. Place the airbase by your refineries. The barracks will go north of your construction yard.
When the barracks is done, make three engineers. Use your assault destroyers to attack the expansion base to the south so that you can take over the ore mines. Destroy the turrets and the defending vessels, but not the refineries or outpost. use your first engineer to capture the outpost. Build a power plant, then make the second and third engineers sit next to the refineries so that you can capture them while the harvester is inside the dock. This will give you $5000 worth of equipment for a mere $1500. Build four apollo fighters back at your airfield.
When your apollos are done, set them to guard the airspace east of your mines near the ramp to prevent air attacks from that direction. Hotkey them to keep them always ready, for you will need to destroy some Kirovs that are near your base. Your co-commander has to come all the way around and it's just too far. Their secondary purpose is to prevent twinblade attacks from that direction.
Leave the two best repaired assault destroyers by your new expansion, to the west, while the other two return to your seaport for repairs. Take the surgical strike command ability, along with time bomb and work your way toward free trade for more income. You'll need another power plant at this point, along with a defense bureau. Start placing spectrum towers north of your base along with the turrets. Garrison your existing turrets with javelin soldiers, and make six more assault destroyers at your seaport. Your goal now is to make a line of four (spaced out) spectrum towers to the north of your base to prevent attacks by apocalpyse tanks. Build power plants as necessary.
Build an armor facility and research max clearance. Build about sixteen multigunner IFVs and ten mirage tanks. You'll need the max clearance ability to do this. They will be pumping out while you proceed to deal with other things.
Once you have a total of eight assault destroyers other than the two defending, attack the sports arena (kirov launch facility) west of your seaport. Destroy all the defenders then focus your fire there. Now head northeastward, toward the other launch facility. Destroy the defenders there and the launch facility then return to the seaport for repairs.
Now you need to deal with the base to the east. Move your eight assault destroyers close to it, but not within range of the V4. Often there are twinblades guarding this location. There are two bullfrogs that will really punish your apollo fighters. The solution here is to use time bomb and surgical strike on each of them. Once they're down, you can take in the apollos and eliminate the twinblades. You can then take in your assault destroyers and move toward the V4. Remember, assault destroyers can fire while moving. Make the V4 your first target while a train of destruction moves past all the other defenders. Once everything is toast, eliminate the arena.
You can take your destroyers back for repair, and have them join your main group if you like. The land forces now have their fifteen minutes of fame and will need to push north. Destroy everything in your way but mostly this is a one-way trip. You need to make it only to the sports arena and destroy it. Likely, your co-commander has already taken care of the arena to the northeast of their base. if they haven't that will be your last target.
