Pacific Ocean: Assault on the Black Tortoise

Mission Objectives:
  • Stop the Allied MCVs
  • Protect the Fortress Power Cores
  • Escort the Engineers to the Power Cores in Three Minutes
  • Destroy all allied forces

    The Naginatas you start with can decimate the enemy MCVs.You start with a large fleet that will have little trouble stopping the allied MCVs. You'll be given a squad of rocket angels. Hotkey them into your current group. MCVs will come from all directions, starting with the north, then east. Move to attack them. They have no chance as long as you're on your toes. The rocket angels will use their paralysis whips to stop the MCVs, making them easy targets for your shogun battleships. The attacks will eventually cease, finishing the first objective.

    When you regain control, immediately select all the forces you see. This should be three sky-wings and a few rocket angels. Use attack-move to take them to the northeastern of the two power plants. That one is in more danger than the other. While they're en-route, select group 1 and left-click the engineers twice. They will be the only ones selected. Press control-2 to put them into their own group. Keep them moving toward the reactors. Order your co-commander to strike the peacekeepers attacking the closer reactor. Out in the sea, you'll have three more skywings. Set the two that aren't flying to flight mode and add all three to your attack group. Move the engineers to the reactors immediately.

    When the fighting's over, a fleet will move in from the west. Use your MCV and refinery/mainframe cores near the ramp on land to deploy them. The refinery core will go to the north with the rest of the refineries. You can have a total of six here, split with your co-commander. Build rocket angels en masse at your dojo to deal with air threats like cryocopters and to hit aircraft carriers that strike your co-commander.

    Hit the southern base with your fleet to begin the process of steamrolling the enemy allied forces here.While your forces are deploying, the allies will attack. Put everything you have into a single hotkeyed group and move about the south of your base taking them out. Don't attack the allied bases themselves yet, just the units that are coming from them. Try to stick near your ramp so no allies close in, but don't let aircraft carriers bombard you without retaliation.

    When things are cooled down a bit, start making shoguns and place your sky-wings in the water for anti-air. A total of four shoguns and eight skywings along with the six or so naginatas you started with can take the southern allied sea base. Move slowly and make sure the shoguns get the first shots. There will be many multigunner turrets to contend with and it'll take your shoguns a bit of time to finish them all. When they're done, mop up the rest of the buildings. You could then send a pair of refinery cores there to take over the resources. Go back to the defensive.

    The final two sea bases go just the same. You can try to work on anti-air a bit more and assist the co-commander in dealing with attack from aircraft carriers while you finish the final two bases.
