Command and Conquer Red Alert 3 Walkthrough
Mykonos: The Science of War
Mission Objectives:
In this mission, you gain your first air units, the Soviet Twinblade helicopters. Using these powerful ground attackers will ensure your air superiority and make you almost invincible in the early stages of the battle. I recommend you first build six of these units and take out the Tech inhibitor on the southeastern island first. This will allow you to build a battle lab and construct a tesla coil. A crane will be helpful for repairing your air units between attacks, so place one near your airfield. A tesla coil should be built directly north of your base on the beach to fend off allied beach assaults. While you are working on the air, build a few akulas and stingrays to protect your base from naval battles. Maintain the intention of using your tesla coil for the primary defense at first because it will be enough to pacify allied troop transports that try to land on your island.
If you have the air, it will help your co-commander who will mostly be attacking from the sea. You can destroy the prism towers that defend the islands to help them out and secure landing areas for sputniks to expand there. Build a single tesla coil and a pair of sentry guns to protect each island. Ideally, one will go to you and the other to your co-commander. Try not to push north with your air because the allies will have plenty of anti-air ships to hurt your airforce.
You should be able to build dreadnoughts with the tech inhibitor gone. Do so, building at least 2. They will aid your stingrays and akulas in pushing north. Move slowly as usual and fire the dreadnoughts' missiles at threats to eliminate them, while the navy protects the dreadnoughts. The allies have no air force in this mission, they only have a puny navy that will not be hard to crush with a defensive style of moving forward. Keep your twinblades back to avoid them being killed by anti-air and before you know it, the allies will be down to ground units once you've achieved naval superiority.
Assault the main allied base from the south. Destroy the static defenses (prism towers, launchers) and power plants to make way for your stingrays. I did not have to bother with bullfrogs to aid in the assault because the dreadnoughts had any threats covered. You should be just as well off. Before you capture the science facility with an engineer in a bullfrog, consider saving up a bit of money to build static defenses. When you've captured the science facility you will be given a zone of control. Having the crane available will allow you to build two tesla coils at a time. Focus your construction on the north and eastern sides. A second super-reactor will help in this task. Throw up a couple flak cannons as well.
The allies' assault on the science facility will not be too hard to put down if you are prepared. Anti-air is a must because they will use bombers against you. If you can hit them as they come, you won't have anything to worry about, especially with a few migs guarding the area. Bullfrogs and flak troopers will help, as well. You should have a large air force to protect your ground troops which should consist of flak and stingrays. At one point I was so confident in this mission that I took a huge squadron of twinblades and nuked the allied base. I had to wait out the countdown while there was nothing left to attack me!
