Carl's Runescape Guide - Quest Walkthroughs and Item Information

Quest Walkthroughs

Completing quests in Runescape can net you powerful items, experience and loot for your adventuring needs. Some quests are required to open up certain abilities in the game. I'll add more as I continue to complete them. This page has continued to grow as of recently (October 5, 2008) and I am very pleased with my character's progress. I think that many people hate quests in Runescape but force themselves to complete them. I find them fun and rewarding, as they've helped me to learn my way around the realm. New players should really try to do some low level quests as the rewards can often be worth a good deal of money. Additionally, some higher level missions require you to have a certain number of quest points to start.

For people who are stubborn about quests, and avoid them entirely, I'll say I'd recommend to suck it up. Following a walkthrough will make doing the quests easy, and allow you to reap the benefits and get quest points. There are some nice items you can wield (Dragon Battleaxe, Dragon Scimitar) that require quest points and some lengthy tasks to unlock. Abyssal Whips are great, but not so hot for training strength so many melee should push for the World Tree and Tree Gnome Village quests to allow them to take on Monkey Madness.

My character development is focused in melee but of course I have some time invested in ranged and magic to complete some of these quests. I don't care about being 'pure' anything, i just want to enjoy the game and be very versatile. It's nice to have the teleports I've gained since I returned from my two year hiatus, they've made the game much more fun as I can complete everything faster. Still, my passion lies with melee. I am working toward getting 70 strength, then I'll go for an Abyssal whip and get my defense and attack up and things should work great from there. This has all been easier to accomplish because of my growing love for quests and the greater knowledge of the world I've received in return.

    Skill Guides

Raising your skills in Runescape is a fun and rewarding experience, but for making money it's often better to be selective about what types of crafting you'll do. This is because raw materials sell at a higher price on the great exchange and you will find many, many raw materials throughout your adventures.

    Item Guide

Below are some stats for a variety of weapons and armor (discluding the standard iron, steel, mithril etc.) you'll come across in the game as well as some extra information about how to obtain them. I also give most of them a personal 'review' about why I think it's either good or bad, but everything has its purpose. For example, draggon daggers are good for being poisoned. Scimitars are great for training strength, Longswords are easy to get (lost city) and help you to get a jump on your power for raising your stats to later use that abyssal whip!
