Ernest the Chicken Walkthrough
What you need: The toughest thing to fight is a level 22 skeleton, but you don't have to kill him. There are no other requirements.
The Quest Reward: 300 coins and 4 quest points.
Start this quest by going to Draynor Manor, which is southwest of Varrock. Near the southern gate you will find a woman named Veronica. She's concerned that her husband, Ernest, has not come out of Draynor Manor and wants you to investigate. Go inside, and climb to the top floor. Note the second staircase is a spiral that is easy to miss. Talk to Professor Oddenstein here, and he will tell you that he turned Ernest into a chicken. He'll need several parts to bring Ernest back to normal: A pressure gauge, a rubber tube and an oil can.
Head down to the second floor. Look for the room south of the staircase with glowing blue symbols on the wall. There is fish food in the room. Go through the doors and pick it up. Now head down to the first floor, and the room just south of the stove. Pick up the poison here, then proceed toward the western-most room. You'll find bookcases along the western wall that allow you to go into the far room, and descend into the basement.
The basement has a puzzle, which is not too difficult to solve. Head to the south of the first room and you'll find a Lever 'A'. Pull it, then lever B to the east. You'll see now that if you hover your mouse over the northeastern door you can now open it. Do so, and proceed to pull lever 'D'. The doors you can open now lead southwest, then south back to the starting room. From there, pull levers A and B once more then head to the northwest. Follow the path of doors to levers E and F (in that order), then go back east and pull lever C. Make your way through the path back to lever E then proceed back to the first room, where the western door is now unlocked, allowing you to get the oil can.
Return to the first floor, and head all the way to the eastern side of the building. Grab a spade that is lying on the ground before going out the back door. Run around to the west of the building and dig in the compost pile to find a key, then head south to the fountain. Use the poison on the fish food, then put the mixture into the fountain. This will kill the piranahs allowing you to grab the pressure gauge.
Return to the main entrance and look for the small room behind the stairs where a skeleton is patrolling. Open the door and grab the rubber tube. It's up to you whether or not to kill the skeleton, as it can't leave the closet. Once done there, return to the top floor and talk again to the professor and he'll return Ernest to normal. This is a nice easy 4 quest points to help you to unlock later quests.
