Pirate's Treasure Walkthrough
What you need: A white apron (use the grand exchange or a clothing store), a spade (buy at a farming store or even find them laying around in certain locations), 60 coins. Also, 11 free inventory spaces and the ability to fight and defeat a level 4 gardener.
The Quest Reward: Ability to use the pay fare option to go to Karamja, as well as 2 quest points, a gold ring and a cut emerald.
Gather all the items you'll need, and head to Port Sarim. On the north end of the dock, you'll find Redbeard Frank. He will ask you for some Karamja rum in exchange for information on a pirate's treasure. Agree to help him, then use the boat (the captain is just west of the word Sarim on the map). Travel to Karamja for 30 coins.
Once you've reached Karamja, head to the pub west of the port. Purchase the rum for 30 coins from the shopkeeper there. Note that you cannot teleport with the rum in your inventory or it will be destroyed. Head back to the east to the banana plantation. Talk to the owner, Luthas. Tell him how annoying the customs officer is, and he'll inform you that his crates aren't even checked any more by her, as it's assumed they only carry bananas! Opportunity knocks! Ask him for employment, and you'll be tasked with gathering 10 bananas. Head west outside his house and through the fence to reach the bananas. Harvest 10, then head to the crate just outside the door of Luthas' house. Use the rum with the crate, then use the fill-crate option to prepare all the bananas for shipping.
If you like, talk to Luthas again to snag another 30 coins for your 'work'. He seems to be there for broke players to have a way to leave Karamja. Take the boat back to Port Sarim and head north again to speak with Redbeard Frank. He'll thank you for the rum, and give you a key. He's forbidden to go into the blue moon inn, where his former captain's chest is located but you are not. Head for varrock (south side) and go inside the inn and climb the stairs to the second floor. There is a chest in the western room where you'll have to manually use the key.
The chest in the blue moon inn contains a note on the location of the pirate's treasure. It's in Falador's park. Look for the statue of Sardomin there, which points to the west. The 'X' that marks the spot is the bare patch in between the statue of Sardomin and the sunflowers. Dig here, and you'll be attacked by a level 4 gardener. Kill him, then dig with the spade again which will reveal the chest. Use the chest in your inventory to collect a gold ring and cut emerald, both nicely valued for a new player to make a good profit.
