Rune Mysteries Quest Walkthrough
What you need: Not a thing.
The Quest Reward: The ability to mine rune essence, the air talisman and 1 Quest Point
Start this quest by going to Lumbridge castle and speaking to Duke Horacio on the second floor. He'll give you an air talisman and ask that you go speak to the Wizard Sedridor.
You can find Sedridor in the Basement of the Wizard's Tower south of Lumbridge. When you speak to him, he'll seem quite intrigued and send you off to deliver a package to Aubury in Varrock.
Aubury's magic shop is located south of Varrock's eastern bank. Take the package to him and speak with him twice. When this is done, you'll have a package to return to Sedridor.
Now simply return to Sedridor once more in the Wizard's tower and you'll be done with the quest. You can now talk to him or Aubury (and some various other NPCs) to have them teleport you to a place where you can mine rune essence.
Aubury is a good choice because he is close to a bank, which will help you to more quickly gather rune essence. In order to craft runes, you'll need the talisman of the type of rune you're attempting to craft, as well as the blank essences. Right click the talisman in your inventory and select the locate option. It will tell you the direction of the altar of the corresponding element. Here's a hint: The Air Altar is located south of Falador.
