Mission Eye of the Storm:
Mission Objectives:
This is it, the final battle. You get to control both Protoss and Terran forces, too! Your ultimate goal can be seen in the screenshot to the right. Fortunately, there is a path of less resistance you can follow. I felt it would be foolish to attempt a ground assault on both sides, since it's hard for the forces of both Terran and Protoss to meet up to coordinate an attack from the same spot. You can also avoid a ground bottleneck by having one of the two races focus on air units. For that purpose, I chose the Terrans to focus on air construction. One problem you must overcome on this mission is managing the two diverse bases. Switch back and forth while tasks are completing at either one to continue progress at the other.
At the start, don't stop to listen to the speech. Get working! Put the four probes on minerals at the Protoss base and the four SCVs likewise at the Terran. Start building SCVs until you have a total of twelve on minerals. Then, start building a total of six probes at the protoss base. Use three on each of the geysers nearby. Place a pylon with three photon cannons next to the assimilator to the north and position the Gantrithor along with Zeratul and the dark templars to defend. Leave a couple dark templars on the western side of the base to defend against enemies there, along with an extra photon cannon.
While you're waiting on stuff to build (probably during the probes being built) at the Protoss base, set up defenses at the terran one. Place marines in the bunkers and get others outside them. This base is harder to defend so you should start building military forces early on. Build a couple of goliaths (you're going to need a factory for the starport anyway) and send them down with Raynor on the southern side to defend that area. A few marines would be helpful, too. Fill the Gantrithor with interceptors to help defend the Protoss base.
At the Protoss base you should prepare to expand. You're going to want three gateways and a cybernetics facility. Build a total of eight dragoons and six zealots (research ground weapons while they're building), then head west of your base with them, up the ramp to reach the expansion point in the screenshot. Build a nexus here with eight probes on minerals and three on gas. Place two pylons, one on the northern and one on the western side of this new expansion, and place three photon cannons around each. You want to hold off any attackers while your other forces move to engage them.
Now you can start working toward the big fight. Here are the forces you're going to want (build required structures accordingly): Twelve archons (yep 24 templars, that's why you have three gateways, right?) six reavers (max scarab and dmg upgrades) six battlecruisers (yamato guns!) and six wraiths (have two starports to speed the construction process). Keep reinforcing your base while you're working. For instance, you might want a couple dragoons at the Protoss base to help the gantrithor fend off guardians (hopefully you build interceptors earlier) and at least four goliaths and multiple marines to help hold off the Zerg at the Terran base. You'll want a construction unit at each of your bases to keep building the required supply buildings as your pop cap increases. Try to keep it fairly high so you can avoid any delays. Research ground weapons upgrades for the protoss and air weapons upgrades for the Terrans.
When your air units at the Terran base are done, head them directly south down the western side of the map. When they reach a point dead west of your expansion base, head them east to meet with your other forces. The reavers should be completely full. Now head everyone northwest of your expansion and down the ramp in the screenshot to the left.
The Overmind is dead north of there, as you already know. Keep your forces tight, but have the reavers in the back. When you get to the border of the Zerg base (you start getting attacked) rush your archons in, followed by everyone else. Use Keep the reavers focused on destroying enemy units, especially ultralisks. Keep the battle heading directly north. When you see the overmind, open up on it (provided there isn't anything too threatening around). Use the reavers as well as all six battle cruisers' yamato guns. It shouldn't take long before it's destroyed!
