Chapter Six: Blackrock & Roll, Too!

Mission Objectives:
  • Destroy the Orc Base Protecting the Demon Gate

Ready to fight some Orcs? I hope so. Almost right when you begin a group will attack from the east. With them is a blademaster hero who can use the split form ability. Focus your troops on killing him as he is somewhat dangerous. Upgrade your citadel and get a boneyard as soon as you can. You can build frost drakes now and they'll be a huge help in your upcoming battles. Hell, they're great for base defense even. You should bring at least one with you to take on the Orcs. Another new unit you can build now is the shade.

You start with one and, as you've already used these, you know what they're good for - scouting! So get that shade to work and find some creeps to kill. Kel'Thuzad isn't level 6 yet even and he can learn a pretty useful ability at that level so you'll want it as soon as possible. Just north of your base there is a group of dragons of which the large one drops a pair of claws of attack +9. There is an optional quest in this chapter and it is:

    Orc Heroes
When you're ready you can try to kill all the heroes of the Orcs. Each has a manual which will increase a statistic for one of your heroes. I considered the hero in the blue base to the west to be the easiest and I recommend you start with that one. You will get a manual of agility for your trouble. I used it on Kel'Thuzad. You don't necessarily need any special units for this. I just took the heroes, a few ghouls and a few crypt fiends. My base was busy preparing to build its first boneyard at this time (to give you an idea of when I did it).

The next base you should attempt would be the one to the east of your base. This one is tougher and I am now changing my default group to one gruop of melee and one group of casters. Necromancers' ranged attacks help but in numbers they can raise huge armies of skeletons. I want that to happen for me so My first group was Arthas and Kel'Thuzad with about four crypt fiends and six ghouls. The second group was six necromancers and four banshees. I took a third group of four meat wagons with the disease cloud upgrade to be my support for the numerous orc watch towers. Assault the second base with your necromancers set to auto-cast raise dead and you shouldn't have too much trouble. You'll receive a tome of strength for your effort here, which you should use on Arthas.

Northeast of here is another base which I took care of with the same attack force as before. On this hero you'll find a tome of intelligence for Kel'Thuzad. Now there are only two heroes remaining. I recommend you attack the orange base and finally the red. The hero in the orange base has a tome of intelligence and the hero in the red base has a tome of knowledge which increases the strength, intelligence and agility of a hero by +1 permenantly. Finish off the rest of the red base and you're victorious.
