When you start, you'll be under attack but Kael's forces are more than enough to protect IllidanMain Quest: Dimensional Gates

  • Close each of the Four dimensional gates
  • Bring Illidan to each dimensional nexus
  • Illidan must survive for three minutes for each gate
From the start you will find yourself under attack as Illidan closes the dimensional gate. This part is not hard, just focus fire on the demons that come through and fight near your towers. The fight will last the full three minutes, but all demons who came through will disappear when the gate closes. Now you can work on improving your economy. Make four additonal workers and send them to build a town hall near the gold mine by the portal. You will be rolling in cash, but you'll need every bit of it to succeed.

Naturally you will want to upgrade your first town hall to a castle. Do this regardless of you using Naga units because you can get a useful orb of fire for Illidan from your artifact vendor. Extra defensive towers will come in handy, and you should make them almost exclusively guard towers. Spend the first few minutes working on this alone to protect your base. The primary direction attacks come from are to the northeast and south. There are already guard towers there but a few more at each location will go a long way. An enemy base to the north will send red dragons to attack you from time to time, so be sure to focus fire on them to bring them down faster.

Couatls are the key to winning this mission. They are the strongest fliers in outlandMake two extra Mur'gul slaves at your temple of the tides to make an extra shrine of Azshara, and gather more wood. Begin upgrading Naga your units at the temple, as well. The best Naga unit are Couatls, because they only cost two population to support, deliver nice damage, and can fly. Focus firing with a group of these will bring down a powerful unit very quickly, especially when they're upgraded. Make at least one full group of twelve. Leave Kael and his phoenix to guard the northeastern part of your base with the guard towers. Be careful not to use flamestrike on your own towers because they'll fall very quickly. Use Illidan, Vashj and the other units you started with, along with a few extra Myrmidons to join your Couatl in heading south. You will see a cutscene.

    Optional Quest: Draenei Village

  • Destroy the Orange Fel Orc Base
This should be your first order of business. The Draenei do not throw out huge armies but they can be a big help in eliminating the enemy bases in this chapter. Go in first with your ground units then send the Couatl in to focus fire on nasty enemies and towers. When the base is destroyed, you'll be allied with the Draenei. Return your units to your base and make more Couatls and at least four dragon turtles to better destroy watch towers and the like. The first base you should take out after the Draenei align with you is the green base to the far east. Wipe them out, using focused attacks with your Couatl and dragon turtles to bring buildings down quickly.

The last base is the purple to the northeast. They fall very similarly to the last, but can pose a bit greater threat with their red dragons. Focus fire with our couatl and humble them. When the last base is down you have no more to defend against, so Kael can join in on the fun. Group him with your land units and go creeping for xp and items while you bolster your forces with the rest of your population cap worth of couatl. A total of 24 will make the final phase a cinch. When you are ready, assault the three gates to the north, east and southeast. Destroy all the defenders before you set Illidan to closing it. The rest of your forces should also gather at the gate before Illidan activates it. The Couatl you have will probably destroy each unit almost instantly as they come out of the gate.
