AlhambraWorld Wonder: Alhambra

Tech Required: Chivalry

Production Cost: 400

What it Does: New Units Trained here get the Drill I promotion (+33% Combat Strength fighting in Rough Terrain). Provides a Free Castle in the City and boosts cultural output by +20%.

Strategies
The boost to Culture is big here, so I hope that you can fit Alhambra into the City that has your Artist Guilds. This is a very popular Wonder because starting with Drill I, you can go to Drill II and Siege to get +50% Combat Strength vs Cities early in the game. Later, with Military Academies and Brandenburg Gate, you can Pick Drill II, III and go for an extra attack, March, Siege, or whatever promotions strike your fancy. It's incredibly helpful and many rough terrain tiles are still around by the time you're building this.

I'm always beaten to this Wonder. Does it provide Barrage to ranged units as well as Drill to melee units?
Admin:
It is specifically the Drill promotion, unfortunately. I'm almost always beaten to it myself, but i rarely make a focused effort to get it. You really need to be on the top side of the tech tree for Education around that time..

Blitz promotion gained this way allows newly trained Paratroopers and XCOM Squad's to attack after paradropping.
