Chapter Two: Attack of the Goblins

Fight your way through the first goblins, and you'll come to a cave. Clear the area and you'll get the Rain spell inside the cave. People have trouble figuring out how to cast rain. It's actually simple. The second symbol is Steam. So, Water + Water + Fire is the correct combo. The last Water + Fire will turn into the Steam element. This spell has limited use, as you'll need to be behind a water shield (Water + Shield + Middle Mouse) in order to be protected from Electricity. It's not very handy for now, but later, electricity-using enemies can be weak to it.

Magicka: Get the spell Rain after this fight

The next fight will lead you to the Village, and a major battle. Outside Gram's Workshop you'll be attacked my many Goblins, some of which have Bombs. Focus on those carrying bombs first, and dispatch them with fire. Avoid all bombs on the ground, as they can knock you into the water killing you instantly. Make heavy use of the Life rune to keep your health high. After the fight, you can grab a Warhammer on Gram's anvil.

The third area is the Forest. The first thing you'll come across is a huge Troll and a Moose. Use a fire beam (Arcane + Fire) to scorch him, then examine Moose #2. After killing him, you can find the sword, Gram. Its special Dragon Slayer property is not used until Chapter 11. You'd have to use it all that time and never switch weapons, just to get a single achievement. It's an OK weapon on its own, but I wouldn't hold on to this that long on the first play-through, just to get that one Achievement.

Magicka: Blast the goblins with area spells to rack up the kills quickly.

You'll have a couple of tough battles ahead of you before finishing this area. Casting spells in an area can come in handy at times like this. Try S-S-S-S-A and press Shift+Right-click. This will cast a powerful area spell for when there are multiple goblins in range. Just a couple casts and you can level an entire horde if your Wizard is positioned near the center. One of the goblins will drop a Dirk, which is really a piece of junk compared to what you're about to get.

Once you've cleared the area, backtrack and go north from the bridge by casting frost spells to freeze the river. You'll come to a log that can be entered. Inside is a forest clearing reminiscent of the Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, where you'll find the Sword of the Masters. It shoots beams just like its Zelda counterpart when your health is full. That aside, when its regular attack is used it can deal about 400 damage. I'd ditch Gram for this if you don't care about the Achievement.

The next area starts with a fight immediately, as you come upon a Goblin camp. Everything is close, so an area spell like the one I recommended before is perfect. After this fight, you'll be faced with your toughest battle yet. There is an enemy wizard in this fight. Use loads of area spells to mow down his buddies, then work the Wizard. I'd stay away from electrical attacks as there's a chance you can get wet. Beams also have a nasty habit of exploding in your face, although you can sometimes use that to your advantage by crossing the beam right in front of the enemy wizard. When you're done, you'll get the Nullify spell from a book here. The Wizard will have dropped the Rod of Emergency Teleport. Its middle-click (active) ability is to telport you randomly. Good for escaping danger, but there are far better Staves available o your Wizard.

The next area pits you against several Trolls. Use area spells to hit the goblins helping them, then focus your attacks on the Troll. There's Moose #3 to the east of where you came in. To the north is a cave that can be entered. Inside you'll find a third troll, and a fridge with a Staff of Frost inside. It provides resistance to cold. You may prefer your Staff of Life or White Wizard over it for their effects and abilities.

When you are done here, you'll fight your second Boss.

Magicka: Jormangandr, the chapter 2 boss fight

Boss Fight Strategy: Jormungandr
This boss is pretty tough without the right strategy. You can't hit him with beams unless he's just about to attack you, and he poisons. Keep your health high (and cure poison) by frequently using the Life rune. If your health bar turns green, you've been poisoned. The best strategy for being this guy is to use Earth and regular Shields. Simply press E, D then Right click to throw up some rocks. The regular shield works as well. In fact, if you cast it in an area by shift-clicking, he'll pop up and hit his head on the ceiling. This doesn't do much damage, so the earth barrier is much better. When you see he's about to emerge (You can tell by the ground), cast the rocks over where he'll pop out. He'll take damage then split again. It's quite possible to do this without taking any damage if you do it just right.
