  • Find Dad in Rivet City
  • Look for Dad in the Project Purity Control Room
  • Search Dad's holotapes for clues to his location
If you've followed my walkthrough, or have done the Wasteland Survival Guide Quest before, Rivet City is probably already revealed on your map. You might even have been to the Science Lab before to grab the Intelligence Bobblehead. At any rate, you don't have to go through the Capital Wasteland to get to Rivet City. Go south of Farragut West Metro Station (east of Super Duper Mart and Megaton), along the river until you find Rivet City to the extreme southeast.

Once at the city, go through the stairwell door and take the door on the left with a sign marked Science Lab. Follow the signs to the lab. Ask Dr. Lee about Dad (James) and she'll tell you he went to an old research lab in the Jefferson Memorial. Go through the ship to the Marketplace (wait until morning if necessary) and stock up, sell, whatever you need to do then set out Rivet City on foot.

The Jefferson Memorial is just northwest of Rivet City. If you have a full view distance, you can probably even see the Monument. Clearly, it's not very far. Head to the western side of the building to find the Jefferson Memorial Museum and Gift Shop. Inside there is really not much loot. Look for the Rotunda and go inside. Clear the Super Mutants and find the holotape. Listen to number 10 to learn of Vault 112, and Evergreen Mills. If you want to raid evergreen mills while you're in the area, it's not that hard if you're at least level 11. You can get the Terrible Shotgun here from Smiling Jack in the Bazaar, be sure to check behind his shop in the small path for the Barter Bobblehead. Also, the Raiders here have captured a Super Mutant Behemoth that you can kill provided you have some mini nuke Ammo. There is a Fat Man launcher in the Foundry, on the top floor in the storage room along with a stash of other good items. If you did all that, reveal Vault 112 (Smith Case's Garage) then return and sell.

Head on to Vault 112 after you're done there. It's inside Smith Casey's Garage in the garage itself, in the room with a car. Activate the electrical switch on the wall to reveal a staircase, then descend. Inside the Vault, be sure to check all the rooms. There is an equipment room that can be accessed by hacking the nearby terminal with 75 science. Inside you will find much ammo and several models of weapon including a laser rifle. There is also a password to the overseer's office on the second floor. The clinic has a nice stash of goods, as well.

When you're ready, put on a Vault 112 Jumpsuit and use the unoccupied tranquility lounger on the ground floor. This completes this quest, and leads to tranquility lane.

This walkthrough is very limited in essential details. I'm trying to find the holotape. You just say go in and find it. Where?
    Admin:
Sorry, but at this point it's too late for me to help that way. I'd have to install the game and go all the way there to find the Holotapes myself to tell you. I did find a list of all their locations here:

    http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Project_Purity_journals

They are on top of a Chemical mixing machine in the Rotunda.

Where do you find the key to Open Grate to Sift Pump (In Jefferson Memorial)? What did I miss - none of the walkthroughs mention this key or where to find it??
