Fallout 3 Take it Back! Walkthrough (Main Quest, Finale)

Fallout 3 Walkthrough - Main Quest Walkthrough by Mission:
Following in his Footsteps  |  Galaxy News Radio  |  Scientific Pursuits  |  Tranquility Lane  |  The Waters of Life  |  Picking up the Trail  |  Rescue from Paradise  |  Finding the Garden of Eden  |  The American Dream  |  Take it Back!

Quest Start: After completing The American Dream, tell Sentinel Lyons that you are ready. Doing so initiates the quest, and the point of no return, so tie up loose ends because after this the ending comes.
  • Prepare for battle and report to Sentinel Lyons.
  • Follow Liberty Prime as he makes his way to Project Purity.
  • Make the ultimate Sacrifice
    or
  • Use the FEV virus on the Project
    or
  • Watch as someone else dies.

Start the quest at the Citadel, in the Laboratory. Make a REAL save so that you aren't relying on quick and autosaves or you may be stuck past the point of no return at some point in this quest.Tell Sentinel Lyons you're ready and you'll initiate the most awesome sequence of events in the game. Cheers to the developers for making this so sweet. Once you stop gaping at Liberty Prime, head back to the courtyard and meet up with the Lyon's Pride.

Everyone will run outside, so follow and begin the journey alongside Liberty Prime. It's beautiful, especially if you have high graphics on PC or the console versions. Hang back a bit, if you don't want to get hurt because there are many explosions. Glorious explosions! Yes, clearly I'm in love. It's a really easy journey. Liberty Prime destroys everything he encounters. Later on, there will be some Enclave dug in that you could kill, but I wouldn't bother. You might miss the fun.

Once Liberty Prime makes it to the Jefferson Memorial, it will clear the area, and the Lyons will help. AFter things have settled, Lyons will tell you to go in. Entering the Memorial is the Point of No Return. If you're ready, head straight for the Rotunda and the Project Purity Control Room.

Inside, there will be some nice squad-based fighting, but by now you're so powerful you'll probably be on point. Clear all the Enclave on the way to the Rotunda. There are at least a half-dozen. Once inside the Rotunda, you'll find Colonel Autumn along with several gatling-laser wielding Enclave Soldiers. You can try to convince Autumn to back down if you like, or give him what he deserves.

Once the situation with Autumn is dealt with, head up to the control room and listen to Dr. Li. Seems there's a problem with the holding tanks in Project Purity and it's going to explode. Someone's going to hae to go inside. Here, you're given a moral choice. You can either be the wasteland's savior, or a coward who lets someone else do the job. No companions will agree to this, so the only other option is Sentinel Lyons.

Take your pick, if you choose to go inside yourself, the code is 2-1-6 (as in, Revelation 21:6). Activate the buttons on the inside control panel in the order 2 - 1 - 6 - Enter, and the ending sequence will begin. Unfortunately, whatever your choice it only affects a couple scenes in the ending. I did a quick save and did both. I had turned in the FEV virus to Elder Lyons, so didn't try the Project Impurity option. At any rate, you can't do anything after the ending.

Does anyone Know how Fallout3 ends, because the game does not ends at project purity. If you let the story finish after project purity, you wakeup at the citadel and the game continue on. Iam still playing the game, and I am trying figure out the end. By the way the chinese steel suit that you get at broken steel is the best tool in this game, you can play the rest of the game in steel mode, and liberty prime does not die at project purity, it gets destroy by a satcone strike from the unclave later on on the game
